
Katikati is renowned for
its murals, which depict the history of the area. Different works highlight
the different aspects of the districts development. Visitors can view
the murals on their own but the guided Tour gives a greater understanding
and appreciation of the stories behind each piece of art. |

With Kaimai
Ranges around the town, there are many wonderful well-marked
walking tracks and coastal walks with superb views. Haiku pathway
around the back of the town centre and along the Uretara Stream becomes
a pathway of discovery with giant boulders carved with poetry inscriptions
and each person interpreting the poems in their own way. |
